Modernization of the Vocational Training Centres in Colombo and Gampaha

- Construction work pertaining to the establishment of the Colombo Vocational Training Centre and upgrading of the Gampaha Technical College are nearing completion. Since the courses of these Technical Colleges have been upgraded from NVQ level 4 to NVQ level 5 and 6, taking into consideration the modern technical changes and the modernization of the equipment, the proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement & Rehabilitation,Northern Province Development, Vocational Training & Skills Development and Youth Affairs, to amend the list of equipment originally proposed to comply with the requirement, was approved by the Cabinet.
