Development of the Haldummulla Herbal Garden

- Haldummulla Herbal Garden located in the Badulla District expands over an area in extent of 65 acres and it contains 700 plant species including endangered species, hereditary as well as rare plants. Provision of herbal plants and technical instructions to set up herbal gardens, selling publications related to herbal plants and conducting awareness programmes are also carried out through this herbal garden. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine, to implement a project with an investment of Rs.33.4 million to expand its activities further, was approved by the Cabinet.
