Presenting of the Gazette Notification issued under the Excise Ordinance in Parliament for approval

- In terms of the provisions of the Excise Ordinance, the Excise Notifications issued under the said Ordinance have to be presented in Parliament, for approval. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, the Minister of Finance & Mass Media to present the Excise Notification published in the Extraordinary Gazette Notification No.2091/50 dated 2018‑10‑03 issued in accordance with section 22(3) of the Excise Ordinance, with a view to granting an exemption from the payment of Excise duty on non‑potable spirit imported for manufacturing activities by the Board of Investment (BOI) approved manufacturing industries which produce 100% of their production solely for export purposes, in Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
