Continuous implementation of the project on Education for Social Cohesion

- The project of Education for Social Cohesion has been implemented successfully from the year 2005 under the technical grant assistance of the Government of Germany. This project is being implemented with the objective of enabling the children, the youth, their families and communities to live together harmoniously and peacefully in a multi-lingual society. The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany has provided a grant assistance of Euro 15.8 million for this project and has agreed to provide another Euro grant of 250,000 for the further implementation of the project. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Rajapaksa, the Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, to sign Exchange of Notes to obtain the said grant, was approved by the Cabinet.
