Awarding of the civil work contract of the Project for enhancing the Deep Berth Capacity of the Jaya Container Terminal (JCT) of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority

- In order to coincide with the development activities carried out to gain competitive opportunities for handling larger container vessels arriving at the Port of Colombo, the proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Samarasinghe, the Minister of Ports and Shipping, to award the contract for the civil work component of the project for the enhancement of the deep berth capacity of the Jaya Container Terminal (JCT) of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, implemented by utilizing the funds of the said Authority to M/s China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd., as recommended by the Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
