Awarding of the Contract for Piling work for the construction of the Faculty of Nursing at Sri Jayawardenapura

- The Cabinet had granted approval previously to construct the Faculty of Nursing at Sri Jayawardenapura consisting of 22 floors. It has been identified that 248 piles have to be cast to carry out the construction work of this building and a decision was taken to procure the piles as 03 packages. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Sajith Premadasa, the Minister of Housing and Construction, to award the contract for 02 packages, out of the above, to M/s Nawaloka Piling (Pvt.) Ltd., for a sum of Rs.124.8 million and a sum of Rs.137.5 million and the other package to M/s D.P. Jayasinghe Piling Co. (Pvt.) Ltd. for a sum of Rs.126 million, in accordance with the recommendation of the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
