Implementation of the outputs of the Fishery Infrastructure Facilities and Aquaculture Development of the Northern Province Sustainable Fisheries Development Project.

- It has been planned to implement the Northern Province Sustainable Fisheries Development Project comprising of the 03 outputs of construction and development of fisheries harbour, anchorages and ferry, aquaculture development and livelihood development with the financial assistance of US $ 174 million to be granted by the Asian Development Bank during the period from 2018 - 2024. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Vijith Vijayamuni Zoysa, the Minister of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Development and Rural Economic Affairs, to establish a Project Implementation Unit(PIU) for the implementation of the project outputs of fisheries infrastructure facilities and aquaculture, was approved by the Cabinet.
