Establishment of a National Level Analytical Laboratory.

- The need for the establishment of a high level analytical laboratory to regulate the inputs of the chemical and organic fertilizer and the pesticides and to regulate the excessive usage and the residue levels contained in the locally produced food has been identified. With the establishment of such high level laboratory facilities it would be possible to provide low cost as well as more reliable analytical services to all stakeholders. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, the Minister of Agriculture, to establish a national level analytical laboratory with an investment of Rs.286 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
