Upgrading of the existing Analogue X-Ray System to Digital X-Ray System in the Government Hospitals.

- Digital X-Ray images have been identified as the best effective technological method for a successful early diagnosis of a disease. As such, a proposal has been made to use digital X-Ray systems instead of the analogue X-Ray systems already used in the Government Hospitals. Under the said project, it has been planned to retrofit 50 analogue X-Ray machines already existing in the hospitals with Digital Radiology panels and obtain 25 Digital Mobile X-Ray systems. Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to procure a quality technological Advanced digital radiography system, utilizing the funds to be received through the concessionary financing of 'FINEXPO' from the Kingdom of Belguim, was approved by the Cabinet.
