Development of the Palaly Airport to operate Domestic Commercial Flights.

- For the promotion of the tourism industry,the necessity of developing of the Palaly Airport to operate domestic commercial flights has been identified. Accordingly, the joint proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of National Policie and Economic Affairs, Hon. John Amaratunga, the Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs and Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva, the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation,to use the Palaly Airport for scheduled domestic commercial passenger operations and to carry out the developments activities of the said Airport expeditiously by the Sri Lanka Air Force with an investment of Rs.1,965 million for the purpose, was approved by the Cabinet.
