Obtaining the financial assistance to implement the Climate Smart Irrigated Agriculture Project.

- The Cabinet of Ministers has granted approval previously to implement the Climate Smart Irrigated Agriculture Project. The International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank has agreed to provide financial assistance amounting to USD125 million to implement this project. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to conduct loan negotiation for the said purpose and enter into relevant agreements, was approved by the Cabinet.
