Setting up a Business Centre in Jaffna for empowering new entrepreneurs

- It has been planned to bring about a sustainable development in the Northern area by creating entrepreneurs equipped with information technology and generating new employment opportunities and income sources. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Malik Samarawickrema, the Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade, to set up a centre in Jaffna with the financial assistance of the Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of India to empower the new entrepreneurs to provide required services, enabling the professional services, enterprises and entrepreneurs to easily and cost effectively set up their offices, so as to have quick access to the export market, was approved by the Cabinet.
