The development project in the Kataragama Sacred Area

- It is identified that vehicle parking facilities, sanitary facilities, drainage facilities, solid waste disposal facilities and lodging facilities in the Kataragama town should be further improved, for the convenience of the local and as well as foreign pilgrims who visit the sacred area of Kataragama to pay their homage. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Sagala Ratnayake, the Minister of Youth Affairs, Project Management and Southern Development, to implement the development project in the Kataragama sacred area providing with facilities such as common amenities, police posts, vehicle parks, protective walls, rest rooms and improved road networks, was approved by the Cabinet.
