Rehabilitation of Feeder Tanks under Giant's tank

- Giant's Tank in the Mannar District which has 162 feeder tanks expands over an area of 3,800 hectares. For almost 03 decades, maintenance and rehabilitation works in feeder tanks of the Giant's tank have not been properly carried out due to the conflict situation which prevailed in the past. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Duminda Dissanayake, the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources & Disaster Management, to secure required funds for the rehabilitation of 40 feeder tanks, was approved by the Cabinet.
