Submission of the Gazette Notifications published under the Special Commodity Levy Act, No.48 of 2007, for the approval of Parliament

- The proposal made by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, the Minister of Finance and Mass Media, to present the Eight (08) Gazette Notifications issued during the period from 31st May 2018 to 07th September 2018, to amend the Special Commodity Levy ratio in order to keep stable the market price of essential food items, provide goods to the consumer without a shortage, protecting the local farmers, facilitating the consumers to pay a consolidated levy instead of various types of taxes and to extend the period for Special Commodity Levy at the same rates, for approval in Parliament, was approved by the Cabinet.
