The Act for the Establishment of the Ruhunu Economic Development Corporation

- It has been planned to establish the Ruhunu Economic Development Corporation for the implementation of the development activities of the Southern Region with special emphasis on the establishment of export oriented special economic zones in the Southern Region. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Sagala Ratnayake, the Minister of Youth Affairs, Project Management and Southern Development, to instruct the Legal Draftsman to draft a Bill necessary for the purpose, was approved by the Cabinet.
