Establishment of a National Vocational Training Institute at Hingurakgoda

- It has been planned to establish a National Vocational Training Institute at Hingurakgoda with a view to providing employable skills to the rural youth. As such, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Sarath Amunugama, the Minister of Science, Technology, Research, Skills Development & Vocational Training and Kandyan Heritage to award the said contract to M/s Gemco International BV, the Netherlands at a sum of Euro 35 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
