Implementation of the Electronic Immigration Gate System (e-Gate System) at Bandaranayake International Airport

- It has been observed that the installation of the e-Gate System as an alternative to the services being provided by the Immigration and Emigration Officers at the Airport will regulate the arrival and departure immigration clearance process. Accordingly, the joint proposal made by Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva, the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation and Hon. S.B. Navinne, the Minister of Internal Affairs & Wayamba Development to install the e-Gate System consisting of 10 units at the Bandaranaike Interantional Airport with an investment of Rs.260 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
