Development and Rehabilitation of Fishery Harbours, Anchorages and Landing Sites Project

- The Development and Rehabilitation of Fishery Harbours, Anchorages and Landing Sites Project has developed Seven Fishery Harbours, a Boat Yard, two Landing Sites and three Anchorages by now. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Vijith Vijayamuni Zoysa, the Minister of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Development and Rural Economic Affairs, to secure funds and other facilities to develop the projects including upgrading and developing of Balapitiya, Suduwella, Dodanduwa, Hambantota and Mailady fishery harbours; Negambo Lagoon Development Project and the construction of Welipatanwila, Dehiwala, Rekawa and Mawella anchorages which have been identified to be further carried out under the said project, during the period from 2018 - 2020, was approved by the Cabinet.
