Recommencement of the manufacturing activities of the Paper Mill at Embilipitiya

- M/s Korean SPA Packaging (Pvt.) Ltd. has submitted a proposal to recommence the manufacturing activities of the Paper Mill at Embilipitya, which is presently defunct, after renovating its plant machinery and infrastructure facilities. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Rishad Bathiudeen, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, to allocate this Mill to the M/s Korean SPA Packaging (Pvt.) Ltd., on lease basis, for the manufacturing of industrial grade paper required for packaging items, with an investment of Rs.1,200 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
