Establishment of an Industrial Zone for Small Entrepreneurs by utilizing the land belonging to the Kankesanthurai Cement Factory

- It has been planned to establish an eco‑friendly Industrial Zone in a land area of 330 acres out of the land where the Kankesanthurai Cement Factory was situated and not being used for production purposes as of now and to develop 100 acres under its first phase in the year 2019. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Rishad Bathiudeen, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, to select suitable investors for the development of the relevant infrastructure facilities and to commence industries, was approved by the Cabinet.
