Madhu Water Supply Project

- The Shrine of Our Lady of Madhu with a history of more than 400 years, is a sacred place of devotion not only of the Catholics but persons belonging to other religions as well. In order to provide a regular water purification facility, for the Water Supply system presently used to provide water to the pilgrims arriving to this sacred place, the proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of City Planning and Water Supply, to implement the Madhu Water Supply Project by using the Madhu reservoir to enable to generate 1,000 cubic meters of water per day, with an investment of Rs.554 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
