Obtaining International Scientific, Technical and Financial Assistance to mitigate Adverse Impacts of Climate Change

- The importance of building relations with international institutions to implement the activities in an integrated manner to mitigate the Adverse Impacts of Climate Change and meet national obligations on the international environmental agreements has been identified. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment, to enter into Host Country Agreements with Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the International Council for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF) and communicate the interest in obtaining the membership of Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and ratify the establishment agreement, was approved by the Cabinet.
