Facilities to promote women's employment in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training

- The Asian Development Bank has agreed to provide a grant of US$ 3 million for the provision of required facilities to promote self-employment among female trainees in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, guide women towards the male-dominated employment fields and widen the women's access towards emerging employment opportunities. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Sarath Amunugama, the Minister of Science, Technology, Research, Skills Development & Vocational Training and Kandyan Heritage, to enter into an Agreement with the Plan International Australia to implement the relevant project, was approved by the Cabinet.
