Installation of Solar Power Panels in Model Village Housing Schemes

- With the objective of uplifting the economic well being of the people residing in the model villages implemented Islandwide by the Ministry of Housing and Construction, it has been proposed to implement a project to install Solar Power Panels in the said Model Villages with the participation of private entrepreneurs, under the Soorya Bala Sangramaya project presently being implemented by the Government. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Sajith Premadasa, the Minister of Housing and Construction, to call for proposals to select suitable investors for the implementation of the said project, was approved by the Cabinet.
