Disposal of ash dump accumulated at the ash yard of the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant in an eco-friendly manner

- Measures have to be taken immediately to dispose the ash dump accumulated as a by product of coal combustion of the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant to prevent the harmful impact caused to the public in surrounding villages and the environment. As a step of this process, it has been decided to provide ash for making eco-friendly products by using them. As such, according to a proposal presented to make bricks by using ash, the proposal made by Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, to dispose the ash within the ash yard of the Coal Power Plant to carry out productions without disposing them to the environment, was approved by the Cabinet.
