Enhancing the coverage of 'Vasantham TV' Channel

- The television channel 'Vasantham TV' has been launched by the Independent Television media network for the Tamil speaking community and during its first phase, services were provided to the viewers covering Colombo and suburban areas. Subsequently, it has been extended to Jaffna, Eastern Province and Kokavil area. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, the Minister of Finance and Mass Media, to extend the broadcasting facilities with an investment of Rs.304 million enabling the Tamil viewers living in the other parts of the Island as well the facility to watch the programmes in this Channel, was approved by the Cabinet.
