Tourism Promotion

- The Government has planned to implement programmes for promoting Sri Lanka as an attractive destination among the tourists in the global level in order to attract tourists of developed countries with a high purchasing power and to retain them for a longer period of time in the country. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. John Amaratunga, the Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs, to implement the said tourism promotion programmes by the Ministry of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs as recommended by the committees comprising of the representatives of the relevant institutions, was approved by the Cabinet.
