Reduction of the landslide vulnerability through mitigation measures

- It has been planned to implement a project to identify the landslide vulnerable areas and unstable slopes in the hilly areas to minimize the possible disastrous situations due to climatic changes resulting from extreme bad weather conditions. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Duminda Dissanayake, the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources & Disaster Management, to implement the said project at an investment of US$ 104 million and secure the funds required for the purpose from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, was approved by the Cabinet.
