Revision of the Nutrition Allowance of the Scholarship holders of the Sports Schools

- The Sport Schools have been established with the objective of producing athletes at national and international level by selecting students who display talents for sports and providing them with proper training. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, the Minister of Education, to increase the monthly Nutrition Allowance provided to a student from Rs.2,500/- to Rs.5,000/-, with a view to providing the students who engage in training in these schools with sufficient nutrition, was approved by the Cabinet.
