Holding the State Christmas Festival - 2018 under the patronage of the Mannar Diocese

- Action has been taken to hold the State Christmas Festival, every year, under the patronage of a Catholic Diocese and the patronage and guidance of the Bishop of the respective diocese. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. John Amarathunga, the Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs, to hold the State Christmas Festival - 2018 under the patronage of the Mannar Diocese with the theme as 'The Nativity of Jesus and the Splendor of Christmas', with a view to promoting reconciliation and spiritual awakening among the people in Mannar where there is a multi‑national community, was approved by the Cabinet.
