Stabilization of the Mt. Lavinia to Angulana Coastal Stretch and the Sand Bar at the Kalu Ganga Outfall which has been subject to erosion

- Approval of the Cabinet has been granted in principle previously to stabilize the Coastal Stretch from Mt. Lavinia to Angulana under the Southern Colombo Sand Catchment Project. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment, to stabilize the Coastal Stretch from Mt. Lavinia to Angulana using the Sand Engine Methodology and to restore the sand bar at the Kalu Ganga outfall eroded due to the recent floods, was approved by the Cabinet.
