Awarding of the contract for the construction of the Grid Substation under the National Transmission and Distribution Network Development and Efficiency Improvement Project

- It has been planned to implement a project consisting of 04 packages to develop and improve the efficiency of the national electricity transmission and distribution network. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, to award the contract for the construction and improvement of Grid Substations in the areas of Kirindiwela, Battaramulla, Biyagama, Kotmale, Veyangoda, Padukka, Kosgama, Seethawaka, Thulhiriya, Ratmalana, Pannipitiya, Kolonnawa, Athurugiriya, Polpitiya, Ukuwela, and Naula, to the Joint Venture of the Mitsubishi Corporation and Ceylex Engineering (pvt) Ltd., under its second package, was approved by the Cabinet.
