Amending the name of the Institute of Post Harvest Technology (IPHT) as 'the National Institute of Post Harvest Management (NIPHM)'

- The Institute of Post Harvest Technology (IPHT) established in the year 2000, is an institution which carries out the post harvest technical research and development activities from the harvesting stage of the crops to the value addition leading to consumption. As such, with a view to performing the technical, research development and regulate activities on the post harvest of Sri Lanka more efficiently and effectively, the proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, the Minister of Agriculture, to amend the name of the Institute as 'the National Institute of Post Harvest Management (NIPHM)', was approved by the Cabinet.
