Ambathale Water Supply System Improvement and Energy Saving Project

- The Ambathale Water Supply System Improvement and Energy Saving Project has been identified to be implemented under the Greater Colombo Water & Wastewater Management Improvement Investment Programme with financial assistance by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Through this project, it has been planned to carry out the renovation and re-establishment of the water pipe lines of the Ambathale Water Treatment Plant, installation of the machinery and to introduce an automated system for the water pumping process and to construct a tank of 8,000 m³ in capacity. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of City Planning and Water Supply, to award the contract for designing and building of the project to M/s Zongnan-SZSG JH JV, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
