Providing relief for the Householders affected by the water leak at the main tunnel of the Uma Oya Multi Purpose Development Project

- The Cabinet has granted approval to pay the monthly rental to the Householders affected by the Uma Oya Multi Purpose Development Project subject to a maximum period of 06 months. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment, to extend the present payment of rent presently paid to the householders until such time these householders are provided with alternative lands to reside, was approved by the Cabinet.
