Purchasing of materials (Sarees) necessary for granting Uniforms to the female Dhamma School Teachers

- The strict attention of the Government has been focused towards enhancing the qualitative aspect of the Dhamma education in Sri Lanka in order to generate a virtuous generation. The distribution of uniforms among the Dhamma school teachers who voluntarily provide Dhamma education to the Dhamma school children has been carried out uninterruptedly since the year 2004 up to now. A proposal has been made to provide the female teachers serving in Dhamma schools with sarees even for the year 2018. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Gamini Jayawickrema Perera, the Minister of Buddhasasana, to procure 64,000 sarees required for this programme from the Department of Textiles for a sum of Rs.103.04 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
