Providing facilities to the temporary shelters for providing protection to women victims of violence

- Approval of the Cabinet has been granted to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the institutes of 'Women in Need' and the 'Jaffna Social Action Centre' for the administration of the temporary shelters established in Jaffna, Mullaitivu, Batticaloa, Colombo and Matara for providing protection to women victims of violence. As such, the proposal made by Hon. (Mrs.) Chandrani Bandara, the Minister of Women and Child Affairs, for the Government to provide competent staff and the other necessary facilities for the systematic management of these centres, was approved by the Cabinet.
