Printing of School Textbooks to be distributed free of charge among the school children for the year 2019

- It has been planned to deliver the school textbooks scheduled to be distributed to the schools prior to 2018-11-04 free of charge to the school children for the year 2019. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, the Minister of Education, to award the contract for the printing of 39.7 million copies of school text books in 419 categories to 27 local printing institutions for a sum of Rs.3,473.1 million as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
