Supply of LED Lamps (Light Emitting Diode Lamps) for a concessionary price to electricity consumers who consume less electricity

- Under the National Programme for the Demand Side Energy Management, it has been planned to distribute LED Lamps among the consumers who consume less electricity on a concessionary basis with a view to encouraging the popular use of the efficient LED Lamps. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, to award the tender for the supply of 10 consignments of 1 million LED Lamps for a sum of Rs.169.6 million per consignment to M/s Rang Dong Light Source & Vacuum Flask Company, in Vietnam, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
