Facilitating newly constituted Local Authorities

- Revising the limits, 10 new Local Authorities have been constituted as the previous Ambagamuwa Pradeshiya Sabha Authority Area as Ambagamuwa, Maskeliya and Norwood Pradeshiya Sabhas, the Nuwara Eliya Pradeshiya Sabha Authority Area as Nuwara Weediya, Kotapola, Agarapathana Pradeshiya Sabha, the Thamankaduwa Pradeshiya Sabha Authority Area as two Pollonnaruwa Municiple Council and Pradeshiya Sabha newly, Bandaragama Pradeshiya Sabha Authority Area as two Bandaragama and Millaniya Pradeshiya Sabha newly. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Faiszer Musthapha, the Minister of Provincial Councils, Local Government and Sports, to secure a sum of Rs.540 million to provide the new Local Authorities with the essential facilities with a view to providing Public Services expeditiously through the newly constituted Local Authorities, was approved by the Cabinet.
