Polonnaruwa Solar Power Project

- It has been proposed to construct a Solar Power Plant of 10MW in Polonnaruwa on Build, Own and Operate Basis. However, since it was not possible to locate a suitable land from the area, it was decided to establish this Power Plant in a suitable block of land closer to the Valachchenai Sub‑Grid Station. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, to award the procurement for Building, Owning and Operating the said Power Plant of 10MW to M/s Didul (Pvt.) Ltd., for a sum of Rs.12.49 for 1kw per hour, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
