Providing facilities to the private sector engaged in the field of agriculture

- The Government has identified the necessity of obtaining the contribution of the private sector in order to improve the agriculture productivity and enhance the quality of such agricultural products. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, the Minister of Agriculture, to establish an Inter Ministerial Coordinating Committee to facilitate the private sector engaged in the field of agriculture to perform successfully in the global business environment as well as to provide agricultural products of high quality to consumers, was approved by the Cabinet.
