Project for promoting the right to information among the various communities

- The Right to Information Act, No.12 of 2016 is implemented to enable the public to access the information in possession of Public Authorities. The proposal made by Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, the Minister of Finance and Mass Media, to implement a project utilizing the funds donated by the Swiss Confederation, to promote the right to information guaranteed by the said Act specially among the people in the conflict and remote areas and the officers serving in the said areas, to create awareness in the manner in exercising the right to information and to further enhance the training provided for the officers in that regard, was approved by the Cabinet.
