Wandurapeenu Ella Water Supply Project

- In a study made by the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, it has been revealed that the construction of the Wandurapeenu Ella Reservoir is the most suitable alternative for providing drinking water to the Kurunegala District as well as to make it a better storage for all of the water supply schemes carried out adjacent to the Daduru Oya Basin. M/s Tata Projects Ltd. of India has made an Expression of Intent to make a feasibility study in respect of the construction of the proposed reservoir. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of City Planning and Water Supply, to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding between M/s Tata Projects Ltd. and the National Water Supply & Drainage Board to carry out the said feasibility study, was approved by the Cabinet.
