The commencement of the preliminary construction work of the Cardiac and Critical Care Complex of the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for children

- The Cabinet has granted approval to the proposal made by the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to carry out the project for the construction of the Cardiac and Critical Care Complex of the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for children as a Joint Venture with the coordination of the Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine and the Ministry of Defence and to deploy the Sri Lanka Navy to undertake its construction work. In accordance with a proposal made by the Minister of Defence subsequently, approval of the Cabinet has been has been granted to carry out certain construction activities through external sources which cannot be handled by the Sri Lanka Navy. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Minister of Defence, to award the contract for the construction of the Pile Foundation of the Cardiac and Critical Care Complex of the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for children to M/s Nawaloka Piling (Pvt.) Ltd. for a sum of Rs.99.67 million as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
