Social Integration of the Gramashakthi Livelihood Development Programme through the Model Village Programme

- The model villages programme implemented under the Ministry of Housing and Construction could be utilized for the social integration of the Gramashakthi Peoples' Movement carried out under the guidance of His Excellency the President through which the capability of the livelihood development of the rural people could be gained by empowering them collectively. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Sajith Premadasa, the Minister of Housing and Construction, to implement the Gramashakthi Peoples' Movement centred at the model villages, was approved by the Cabinet.
