Construction of Volley ball and Basket Ball play grounds in the National Police Academy at Katana

- The National Police Academy at Katana has been established with a view to enhancing the knowledge, skills, attitudes and vocational skills of the police officers. Five training courses are conducted daily in this academy and around 300 trainees attend the courses and out of them, a majority participate in training being resident in the academy. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Ranjith Madduma Bandara, the Minister of Public Administration & Management and Law & Order, to construct 02 Volley Ball and Basket Ball play grounds to facilitate the said trainees to be engaged in sports, physical exercises and physical fitness activities in order to spend their leisure time productively, was approved by the Cabinet.
