Amendment to the Sri Lanka National Freedom from Hunger Campaign Board Act

- Approval of the Cabinet has been granted previously to amend the title of the Act as National Food Promotion Board Act, with a view to updating the Sri Lanka National Freedom from Hunger Campaign Board Act, No.15 of 1973 to suit the current trends. In this respect, the proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, the Minister of Agriculture, to draft a Bill incorporating the further amendments necessary to be made in the Bill prepared by the Legal Draftsman, in order to further strengthen the activities of the agricultural community and the institutions engaged in such activities, to publish same in the Government Gazette and subsequently, present the Bill in Parliament, for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
