Promotion of Domestic Air Services

- In accordance with the Expression of Interest calling of proposals by the National Agency for Public Private Partnership (NAPPP) for the operation of scheduled domestic air services according to a given time table, 05 institutes have submitted their proposals and the said proposals have been evaluated by a Committee comprising of the Director General of Civil Aviation, the Chairman of the National Agency for Public Private Partnership and the Executive Director of the Airport and Aviation (Sri Lanka). Accordingly, the joint proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs and Hon. Ashoka Abeysinghe, the Acting Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, to call for applications from the relevant air services institutes for issuing licenses for operational activities, subject to taking action in accordance with the recommendations of the said Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
